Leadership development for real managers

Your team already has the talent. We help you lead it.

Most leadership programmes hand you a binder and wish you luck. Ours puts you in live coaching scenarios with people who have actually managed teams of 5, 50, and 500. Based in Northern Ireland, working across the UK.

What we actually do

Four core services, each designed around a specific leadership challenge rather than a generic syllabus.

First-time manager coaching

The jump from individual contributor to manager is where most organisations lose good people. We pair new managers with a coach for six weekly 90-minute sessions, covering delegation, difficult conversations, and the shift from doing to directing. Each session ends with a specific practice to try before the next one.

Senior leadership intensives

For directors and heads of department who need to think about strategy, influence, and organisational culture rather than task management. These are two-day residential sessions held quarterly, limited to eight participants so the conversation stays honest. We use real case material from your own organisation wherever possible.

Team alignment workshops

When a leadership team disagrees on priorities, the rest of the organisation feels it within weeks. Our half-day workshops bring your senior group into a facilitated room to surface hidden tensions, agree shared goals, and leave with a written action plan that names who owns what. We follow up at 30 days to check progress.

Ongoing advisory retainer

Some clients want a leadership advisor on call rather than a fixed programme. Our retainer gives you four hours per month of direct access to a senior coach, usable for one-to-one calls, quick email advice, or sitting in on tricky meetings. Unused hours roll over for up to two months.

Started by people who managed before they coached

Flourish Leadership began in 2019 when two operations directors realised the leadership training they kept buying for their teams was disconnected from the pressures those teams actually faced. The slide decks were polished. The follow-through was absent.

So they built something different: programmes that start with a diagnostic conversation, not a course catalogue. Every engagement begins with us listening to three or four people in your organisation, understanding the friction points, and then designing sessions around those specifics.

We are based in Long Greenhampton, Northern Ireland, and work with clients across the UK. About half our coaching happens on-site at client offices; the other half runs over video. We keep our team small on purpose. The person who scopes your project is the same person who delivers it.

Leadership coaches in an informal coaching conversation

How an engagement typically runs

No two projects look identical, but this is the rhythm most clients follow.

Discovery call

A 30-minute conversation where we learn about your team size, structure, and the specific leadership gap you want to close. No sales pitch, no pressure.

Diagnostic interviews

We speak with three to five people in your organisation, confidentially, to understand how leadership is experienced from different levels. This takes about a week.

Programme design

Based on what we hear, we propose a programme with clear objectives, session outlines, and a timeline. You approve, adjust, or scrap anything that does not fit.

Delivery and follow-up

We run the sessions, collect feedback after each one, and send you a summary report at the end. A 30-day check-in call is included at no extra cost.

Who delivers the work

Our coaching team includes former operations directors, HR leaders, and a clinical psychologist who specialises in workplace behaviour. Everyone has at least eight years of line-management experience before joining us. We do not employ junior associates or contract out facilitation to people you have never met.

Common questions

How much does a typical programme cost?
First-time manager coaching starts at £2,400 for the six-session package. Senior intensives and team workshops are scoped individually because group size and preparation time vary. We always quote a fixed price before work begins, never bill by the hour with an open meter.
Can sessions be delivered remotely?
Yes. About half our work now happens over video. One-to-one coaching translates well to remote delivery. For team workshops, we recommend at least the first session in person so participants build rapport, then subsequent sessions can move online if needed.
What industries do you work with?
We have worked with technology companies, professional services firms, NHS trusts, and manufacturing businesses. Leadership challenges share more in common across sectors than people expect. The diagnostic phase lets us learn the language and pressures specific to your field.
How do you measure results?
We agree on two or three observable outcomes at the start, things like reduced escalation frequency, improved 360-feedback scores, or faster decision cycles. At the 30-day follow-up we review those metrics together. If you want a more formal evaluation, we can run a pre/post survey with your wider team.
What if we need to pause or cancel?
Life happens. You can pause a programme for up to eight weeks without penalty. Cancellations made before the third session receive a pro-rata refund for undelivered sessions. We put this in writing before you pay anything.

Let us talk about your team

If you are not sure which service fits, that is fine. The discovery call exists precisely for that. Tell us a little about your situation and we will suggest the right starting point.
